Outdoor Living Showcase

Re-Envisioned
Red Rock was engaged by a major-league baseball player to re-envision his home and outdoor living environment in the sub-burbs of Phoenix, Arizona. Incorporating elements of the original home, Red Rock designed and built an 8,000-square foot 'man cave' in a rustic contemporary motif.
Cohesiveness
This theme is carried through the entire property, from the circular entry reflecting pool to the elaborate raised spa.
Connected
The various outdoor spaces are connected by a system of modular pathways of limestone stepping pads with grass between them. The planting areas contain drought resistant plants including a variety of cacti and succulents.
Arbor System
A massive arbor system is made of raw steel that is intended to rust, planted with various types of flowering vines.
Rainwater Chains
There are dozens of rainwater chains throughout the site with small flows of water to create a subtle sculptural effect.
Multiple Play Areas
The property also includes a tortoise sanctuary, which looks like a contemporary metal sculpture, a fully functioning windmill and a large children's area with a massive play structure, grade level trampoline and cushion composite play surface.
Pool
The pool was designed to anchor the exterior area and covers about 3,200 square feet. The area abuts two sides of the house where there is floor to ceiling glass doors that open to create and intimate feel between the water and the house.
Decking and Raised Wall
As with the rest of the landscape, the decking is all geometric modular pads interspersed among faux grass. On the far side of the main body of water is an 18-inch raised wall with a vanishing edge flowing back toward the house and deck areas.

Near the house, a raised spa is contained within another shallow shelf. The spa is trapezoid and roughly 18 by 16 feet. The sides of the spa are fitted with a series of metal spillways, custom made by Bobe, that spill back into the pool. The inside and outside of the spa is finished with a rich brown mix of Oceanside glass.

The outdoor living environment is capped off by a massive outdoor kitchen and fireplace area that has a beautiful overhead structure that is capable of accommodating hundreds of people on multiple picnic tables and benches.
